Flooding in south of France

You may don’t know but south of France is facing heavy and successive flooding since 3 weeks especially in the region of Montpellier and Nîmes. The countryside of Perpignan has also been impacted but far less than expected.

Since the last 5 last years the weather of this region of France has dramatically changed. Before the climate were mainly dry most of the year with a lot of wind coming from north and the sun was shining more than 300 days a year without any clouds.

But since 5 years, the wind comes most of the time from south and west, meaning from the mediterranean sea, therefore the climate is now often very humid and with a lot of heavy rains.

The clouds you can see on this picture are the ones coming from the mediterranean sea, gathering over Perpignan and heading Montpellier they reach 6 or 7 hours later and where they release hard rains causing floods.

Climate is changing, it’s now a fact and south of France is heavily impacted this year.

That’s just the beginning… Nature is going to have soon its revenge…

And you, are you already impacted by climate change? Did you change anything in your life to moderate your personal pollution?
